Featured Animal Who Needs Help

Carrie needs your help!

This is little Carrie a 1 yr old Yorkie mix that came to us as a foster dog from the San Jose shelter. Carrie's story is one like so many others; found as a stray and no one came to look for her. After being in the shelter for 9 days and no history of vaccines; she had unfortunately been exposed to parvo and when we had her vaccinated it threw her full into the virus. She went down hill immediately. We took her to Boulevard Pet Hospital where they started her on an IV and began the necessary tests. She was then transferred back and forth between the Ohlone Emergency clinic and Irvington Pet Hospital for the next 8 days. Anything that could go wrong for her....did. Carrie was so sick that she could not even lift her head; she hadn't eaten solid food in 10 days and had gone from 6 pounds to 4. She needed plasma and countless other treatments; her surviving this was 50/50. Click here to read more >>

Featured PAWS Success Story

bunny

Bunny says: “Two paws up for PAWS!”

Bunny is a cute 3-year-old Manx girl who was brought to the SJACS as a stray kitty. This sweet little tail-less girl had two broken teeth, which excluded her from the shelter’s adoption program. But thanks to PAWS, Bunny got a second chance – a chance to live!

PAWS paid for Bunny’s dental and spay surgeries.

Please come to meet Bunny and to fall in love with her at the SJACS adoption gallery.
