Francie was brought to the San Jose Animal Care Center (SJACC) on the morning of September 5. She was in terrible pain with major injuries. They suspect she had been hit by a car. Francie had multiple pelvic fractures and a seriously degloved hind leg (the outer skin was scrapped off). Veterinary Surgical Associates (VSA) performed the orthopedic surgery for the pelvis; Dr. Tyson of SJACC perfomed multiple surgeries to repair the deeply degloved leg. NARF rescue has taken Francie in to see her through the 6-8 week recovery time. She is reported to be doing very well.

Despite what she’s been through, Francie is a very sweet and affectionate girl. She’s only about 10 months old–what a rough start in life! The shelter believes she’s a sheltie mix. As cute as she is in the photo, we’re told that Francie is even cuter in real life!

PAWS for SJACS contributed $500 toward Francie’s surgery. If you’d like to help with Francie’s vet expenses, click the donation button.

Tilly is a brown and black Chihuahua mix. She was brought to SJACC as a stray on September 8. Like Francie, Tilly was most likely hit by a car. She suffered multiple pelvic fractures that had to be repaired by an orthopedic surgeon. Tilly is about 1 year old and is a very personable young girl. Tilly will initially be going to a SJACC foster home to recuperate and likely to a rescue group later for placement in a new adoptive home.

PAWS for SJACS contributed $500 toward Tilly’s surgery.
