“Where have all the bunnies gone?

This time last year, there were hundreds of bunnies scampering through Moreland Woods next to San Jose’s Easterbook Discovery School. Some were abandoned Easter bunnies, some were the product of what bunnies do — breed like crazy if they aren’t spayed or neutered — and some were dead, killed by kids with BB guns or dogs illegally allowed to chase them inside the fenced-in lot.

On Friday afternoon, under gray skies and the threat of rain, there were none in sight — dead or alive. It was a sign of the success of the Great Bunny Rescue of 2009, when three rescue groups were able to trap more than 100 bunnies.”

The rest are believed to have escaped to safer pastures, driven away by all the commotion and perhaps the trauma of seeing their brother and sister bunnies killed in front of them.”  Read the full article here: http://tinyurl.com/25sc4m9
