Mae West was found as a stray wearing a skeleton Halloween costume. The costume seemed to be holding a piece of gauze onto an open and bleeding ulcerated mass on the back of her neck. SJACS vet prescribed antibiotics. Mae West was very shut down in the shelter, laying flat and not really interacting. Golden Gate Basset Rescue (GGBR) agreed to take her and immediately got her vetted and into a foster home. Within a day she was alert, happy, wagging tail. The veterinarian who examined the mass determined that it was floating freely and was able to remove it in its entirety. In addition she was given a complete dental.
PAWS for SJACS helped support the medical costs for Mae West and she is now happily awaiting a new forever home – You can find more information on http://ggbassetrescue.org
