Lucky was rescued literally minutes from being put down on 12/8/11, as a 13th St Cats’ rescuer was begged to take him by a SJACC shelter worker who was about to put him to sleep.  The shelter worker pointed out he was so friendly and seemed an easy “fix” with just an identified open wound on the bottom of his front left paw that SJACC was putting him down for.  After a month of meds and cage rest, the paw was still not completely healed, and a further evaluation determined he also had a old fractured rear femur (near the hip joint) requiring Femoral Head Ostectomy surgery; during that surgery the front paw wound was biopsied, cleaned, and sutured.  It was also noted during surgery that he had a large injection site reaction that they excised!  Man, this guy is truly lucky to have been rescued.  Being a charming, loving cat, 13th St has found a “foster to adopt” home so he is lucky yet again!

13th St Cats is very thankful to PAWS for SJACS for helping fund this feline’s medical issues, for the advice of the Dr. Rusher Rescue Clinic, and to Adobe Animal hospital for the discounted surgery.

Donations to the PAWS for SJACS medical fund helps make saving such animals possible, and PAWS for SJACS thanks all our donors.
