Fall Furry Flurry
Last month PAWS for SJACS and the Bay Area Siberian Husky Club hosted the 10th Annual Fall Furry Flurry, a 5 K dog walk and a day to have fun with your dog. They invited all the rescues that work with the San Jose Shelter to participate and have people make “pledges” to their groups. This is a great way for small groups to do some fundraising without doing all the work. This year there was $10,000 overall brought in for all of the groups. TownCats did the most with over $3,000 in pledges. Also receiving pledges were BASH, PAWS for SJACS, CARE, Norsled, SVACA, and others in attendance. It was a beautiful day for a walk. The fun began about 9:30 with the walk with people and their pets; there were dogs and cats (in strollers). About 10:30 we started the doggie games that included musical sits and bobbing for wieners. PAWS’ own Cruella DeVille offered to bob for wieners if onlookers donated a total of $100. We received $162 and Cruella bobbed for wieners like a champ. The day ended with a great silent auction where we had Giants tickets for 2013, symphony tickets, cat theme platters and much more. As always we also had a terrific raffle and many people won great dog, cat and people items. We appreciate all those who attended, participated and enjoyed our event. See you next year! Fall Furry Flurry.
