Pet Awareness Welfare Society
for San Jose Animal Care & Services
Who We Are
PAWS for SJACS is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to support and work with San José Animal Care & Services (SJACS) to reduce the number of homeless animals and to increase awareness of the value of companion pets in the home and community. To accomplish this, we create and fund various educational, medical, and other programs.
In 2014, the San Jose Animal Care Center (shelter) on Monterey Road took in over 14,000 animals!
The large majority were cats and dogs, but also included other animals, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, horses, etc.
Donations to PAWS for SJACS help the animals at this public animal shelter by:
Providing medical care for sick or injured animals
Providing treats and toys to enhance the lives of animals while they are at the Animal Care Center
Purchasing special equipment to better care for the animals
Encouraging birth control for pets, especially through discount spay and neuter programs
Offering discount vaccinations to keep family pets healthy
Assisting rescue groups so they can take in more animals from the Animal Care Center
Educating the public on proper care of animals
All donations to PAWS for SJACS are tax-deductible as allowed by the IRS.
